Sectionals are coming up this weekend, and some interesting matchups are on tap!
With the way the Sectionals have 3 Areas this year, it created a weird bracket alignment with #1's from 2 Areas matching up in the Semi's while the other Area #1 has an "easier" path to the finals. Some of those Semi's look like they would have been a good finals match that happens too early, but it is what it is... Area tourney's seemed rather uneventful this year in my opinion, at least our Area. Missed seeing teams like Wesleyan and Holy Innocents in our Area.
I'm not counting Jefferson out just yet, but looked like they had a much closer win from their Area than I would have expected. Jackson Co did a great job hanging in there. Now they both head into a Sectional against Sonoraville. This is going to be the Sectional to attend, with 3 of the top 4 teams in AAA battling it out. North Hall is sitting pretty over in their Sectional without having to go against these other 3 teams, and they should make it out with getting their wrestlers in some high seeding spots. Jefferson, Sonoraville, and Jackson Co will have an uphill battle at State. It's unusual nowadays to see a Duals champion NOT repeat as a Traditional champion too, but this is going to be dramatic finish for AAA!
What's your thoughts?
Any matchups your are highly anticipating this weekend?

Couldn't agree more. Crazy how they handled putting 3 Areas in a sectionals. I wished they would have seeded the 1 seeds, but in the end you've got to wrestle. When looking at the brackets it does seem a lot of good semi matches will occur in both sectionals. Also, it seems Commerce and Darlington match up a lot in the semi, crazy. The state tournament could be won or lost this weekend depending on Commerce's performance. I bet a lot of those match-ups will be repeated in the finals the following weekend in Macon. Outside of a few kids Sectional B just doesn't seem very tough. It should be very interesting for sure!
Cant wait to see AAA. Its going to be just like the Duals bonus points!
